Exploration Park #1 LbNA #36851 (ARCHIVED)

This letterbox is located at the top of Exploration Peak at Exploration Park in the community of Mountain's Edge. The park itself is located on the corner of Blue Diamond Rd and Buffalo Rd in Southwest part of Las Vegas. Once you get to the park, take the short hike up the mountain to the VERY Top. Once you get to the top, enjoy the view from the covered picnic area. While gazing towards to beautiful Las Vegas strip, locate the NE corner of the picnic gazebo. Follow your gaze to 27 paces straight toward the TRUMP Towers, located directly between the RIO and the Stratosphere. Once you get the edge, look down and there will be two small shrubs. Directly to the left, and down a level there will be a straight crack in the rock. Follow the crack over the edge of that level. Under the lip of that rock, you will find a bunch of small rocks covering a small overhang about 6 inches tall. Remove the rocks and look inside and you will find our first letterbox. We placed this box on Thanksgiving Day while trying to walk off our turkey dinner! Bring water if it is hot and a sweatshirt if it is cold...
