The Sundancer is a butterfly.
She is the greatest joy of all the fairies who love to gather in the meadow to watch her dance to the song of the Timber Doodle.
The Fairy of the spring blooms, who is a wildly romantic fairy, is always there first; soon to be joined by the Fairy of flower pedals, and later on by the Fairy of windblown seeds. The Fairy of the wildflowers holds banquets with the bounty of all the wildflowers and never forgets to serve the Sundancer her favorite food, Milkweed.

To find the Sundancer you should start at The Brown Barn.

You can find driving directions and trail maps by login onto http://www.beaverbrook.org/.

You can drive to The Brown Barn by taking 122/Silver Lake Road through Hollis Center towards Pepperell. After you see a cemetery on your right on top of a stone wall take a right into Ridge Rd. After a while you will see a brown Beaver Brook sign, which is at the beginning of Brown Lane. Take this right and go to the end. There is plenty of parking.

You can hike by parking in the Route 130 parking lot.
From the intersection in downtown Hollis where the traffic lights are, follow Rt. 130 west (Proctor Hill Rd.), for approx. 0.7 mi. The trail head parking will be on the left side of the road. If you pass the “Diamond Casting” sign that is on the right, you’ve just passed it.

Clues:

Starting at the trail head, you will begin your journey following the Beaver Brook Trail. Eventually you will come to an intersection that has a no name trail to the left. Keep going straight on the Beaver Brook Trail, as you were.

Shortly after passing the no name trail, you will pass a marsh area to your left. After the marsh area, you will approach a “Y” intersection. Follow the trail to the left.

You will now be approaching a small marsh pond on the left, across from a temporary footbridge on the right. After this, you will go over a regular footbridge and come to an intersection.

Go straight across the intersection and up the hill to Brown Barn.

Walk along with the Barn on your right and the kiosk to your left across Brown Lane.
You will now see a sign "TO TEPEE TRAIL". A little further you will see a sign "TEPEE TRAIL". Stay to the right of this sign with the shrubbery on your left. Soon you will see a podium on your left telling you all about the Timber Doodle. Read it all and see if you can notice this bird.
Just a few steps further on the right is a sign BIRD BLIND. Take a right in front of this sign and you will see a small brown building up the hill and to the left.
Go to this building and stand in front of the door. There are two steps leading up to the door, the first one being a huge granite slab and the second one a wooden step. Behind the granite step and to the right of the wooden step you will find what you are looking for.
Happy trails.
