Clues:

08/25/08 - went to check on the box & discovered it missing. Will replace & then post on this site.

Hi! My name is Bear and I am a Dog Scout as well as a Reading Education Assistance Dog ®. I work at the library in Old Mission Elementary School with my mom listening to kids read books to me.

Since kids are some of my favorite people, I thought the location for this clue was appropriate. Kids Creek is part of the Boardman River Watershed in the Grand Traverse area and was once home to the largest herd of buffalo east of the Mississippi. The development rights to this 17 mile area are held by the Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy and business owners on either side of the creek have pledged funds to help in the restoration.

To find this box, travel on US 31 south in Traverse City until you see Kohl’s Department store. Park in western portion of the parking lot – between Kohl’s & Michaels.

You will see a wooden rail that leads to the trailhead. Go left on the trail and continue until you cross 3 bridges. Go left when you have a choice at the second boardwalk. At the end of the boardwalk, find the first cedar on the left and you will find the box. Please recover carefully! You can continue on this trail if you’d like. It will wrap around to the Great Wolf Lodge & pass some buffalo pens.
