Our family visits Bear Lake once a year and stay in Garden City. We make a point of driving around the lake to enjoy the beauty of the lake and old cabins that still exist.

You can start anywhere on the west side of the lake and head north on the main road. (We just like to point out to notice the great old cabins along the way.) Drive until you can turn right to drive along the north side of the lake (there is the "Bear Cave" on the corner). You will first pass a large building and cross over a bridge. You will then cross over another bridge and pass the north beach. After you pass a white and gray building, you will turn left at the yield sign onto a dirt road. You will pass a deer sign that hunters had a little fun shooting. Go over the cattle guard. Along the left side of the road, the water comes up near the road. We often see fish swimming around and enjoy watching for them. You may even see rabbits, lizards, or other wildlife crossing the road.

After you have enjoyed a little wildlife, look for a cement wall on the right side of the street. Under some rocks at the base of the middle of the wall, you will find the letterbox.

Happy hunting!! I have placed another one around the lake. Others have placed some and would make great fun for a complete trip around the lake.
