Find Sunfield, MI. From M-43 (Grand Ledge Hwy) go North at the blinker light onto First St., which is also Sunfield Hwy. Travel North (into Ionia Co.) for 3 miles to Musgrove Hwy. Turn East onto Musgrove Hwy and go for 1 & 1/2 miles, (past Petrie Rd) until you see the first woodlot past Petrie Rd. From the edge of the woods, about 100 yards, there is a small parking area to use. You will see a hand pump, rocks, a picnic table, and a telephone pole curb. Park you car here and go North into the mowed area and find the boulder, "Sunshine". This park was donated, after his death, by R.W.Gierman, a former professor. "Wilfred" researched, wrote and published the "Recollector", a history of the pioneer farm familes of Sebewa. Step to the back (North) side of the boulder and take a compass reading of 320 degrees. Follow this heading for 12 paces, (1 pace=2steps,), reflecting that a BIRD would be lucky to have a HOUSE here, even if he had to live in the BASEMENT. Stop on the 12 th pace and look to the capatilized words in the previous sentence to find your stamp!
