This box is for weary travelers who need to stop and stretch their legs. It is located just off I-10 in Voiers Park (also known as “Pit Park”) in Deming. Deming is noted for its annual "Great American Duck Race". From I-10 on either end of Deming, exit on Business Loop 10 (= Pine St.) which is the main east-west road through Deming. Turn north on Country Club Rd. (there is the Country Club Gas & Food Mart (now closed) on the corner). Just before arriving at the freeway (I-10), turn left into the parking lot for Voiers Park and park there.

Walk counterclockwise on the paved path around the top and edge of the pit. As you approach the western-most edge of the pit, the paved path makes a sharp curve to the left. At this curve there is a black “Dog Waste” sign and a red “Notice” sign, both on the same post. From the double sign, walk south along the low fence to the corner post (sixth post). Turn left (east) and go to the first post from the corner. The box is between the post and a small Mesquite Tree under a flat rock covered with some plant debris.

Please be sure the contents are double ziplocked when you put them back in the box (i.e. the stamp is in a ziploc, the book is in a ziploc, and the two are in the larger ziploc bag), and put all of it INSIDE the box. Please rehide the box well under the rock and cover with plant debris so that it can not be seen from any direction.

I will not be able to check on this box very often; so, please let me know if you find it or if it is missing or needs attention:
