The Emerson Marsh Turtle is hiding along the Rockingham Recreational Rail Trail which runs from Newfields to Manchester. Abe Emerson Marsh conservation area is west of Patten Hill Road and north of 101. The Rail Trail runs along the north side of the Marsh. To find the Turtle, go west on the Rail Trail for 0.1 mile from Patten Hill Road. As you enter an area with blocky cliffs on each side of the trail, notice a large rock that has fallen out of the cliff and lies close to the trail on the north side. From the west end of that rock, take 2 steps and turn to face the cliff. At about 4.5 feet up the cliff, there is a corner of a block sticking out toward you. The Turtle is hiding below that corner in a cave that is about waist high with a rock door closed across it. After stamping in, please close the door to her cave carefully so she can stay hidden!
