Cedar Lake is about five miles due west of Faribault. The public access is on the north shore. From the boat ramp, you should see the closest island to the SSW about 1,000
To get there you'll need to go by water. It's a 10-minute canoe ride or a half-hour swim (not recommended). Or if you wait until winter you can probably skate out there in several minutes - but bring an ice auger. Don't bring a snorkel or Scuba gear because the visibility is only about one foot.
On the far (South) side of White Island there's a downed tree in the water. The urn is located about 20 feet from the shore and about four feet underwater beneath the tree's easternmost branch. Once at the location you should find a reasonable line of attack to allow you to retrieve the urn.
FF! Congrats to K Frog on 10/7/07

9/5/2010. The underwater urn was there but was corroded shut. We replaced it today. Fresh log. Fresh stamp. Etc. In seven layers of waterproofing.
