Girl Scout Gold Letterbox.

Ponderosa Park.

Traveling though Dillsburg on Route 15, you will want to turn onto South Mountain Road at the red light. (This is the red light where the M&T Bank and Choice Store are on the opposite side of 15 from where you will want to turn.) Once on S. Mt. Rd. you will dive 3.8 mile and turn left onto Water Street. The park entrance is on the left. The Ponderosa sign is not up at this time.
Parking is right before the playground. Park is open from Dawn to Dusk.
Please bring your own stamp pad.

This is a great family park under development by Franklin Township. Take a picnic lunch and enjoy the beauty of this quant little park. It is great for families with little ones because they just recently added new playground equipment for them to enjoy. A Girl Scout Gold Award project is tucked in the corner of this park. One of the girls in my troop developed a nature trail for the Township. In honor of this achievement, we have placed our 1st letterboxes and the 1st letterboxes on this listing for Dillsburg! We are hoping that the local Girls Scout Troops get the chance to learn about and love letterboxing right here. Both Leader and Gold winning Scout have a passion shared for this pastime, and we would love to pass it on!

Walk the road towards the pavilion. You will see a Flag Pole in the middle of the common area. Stand at the pole. Facing north, you will walk 80 degrees toward the east corner of the park. To the right, amongst the trees you will see some signs. Walk to the signs and please note who took the time to plan, clear, and develop this trail for your use at this time.

Standing and facing the sign stating “Nature Trail” only, take the path leading to the right.

You will pass 2 benches.
Across from the 1st birdhouse the path goes around a tree.

Do not Exit trail at the sign, continue on the trail.
Pass bench 4.
Stand in front of birdhouse 4 – Facing north turn 310 degrees and as the bird flies – walk 12 steps to the taller Multi–trunk tree.
Under SPORs to the right of the tree you’ll find GS gold!
