I remember when I was a little girl, my parents would take my little sister and I to the park to play. But being the tomboy that I was I always seemed to make my way over to the pond. I would play with the turtles, the snakes and the frogs. So this is why we decided on a pond series.

Now for the CLUES:

Take I-90 to Osburn Idaho. (exit 57) Go south to the end of the road. There should be a bar to your left and a gas station to your right. Take a right towards Polaris on Mullan Street. (the main road) Drive for one mile, after one mile you will see a railroad crossing sign on your right. Go straight ahead past a "no outlet" sign. (watch out for cars coming around that corner!) Keep driving down this road, you will know you are on the right road if you are surrounded by a trailer park. To your left you will see Gene day Park. Drive past it a little further until you come to the end of the road. Park off to your left side. To the south, over a chain you will see a little trail that will lead you to the bike trail. Once you are on the bike trail, look to your left, you will see a small blue sign that reads, "Welcome to Osburn." Remember this sign, this is where you parked your car. :-)
Gene Day Park is closed during the winter, but the letterboxes are not in the park. We don't recommend trying to find these during an Idaho winter.

#1- to find TY THE TURTLE:
Head west on the bike trail until you come to a metal bridge, cross it. With your back against the end of the bridge take 10 steps and look to your left. You will see two large rocks on the side of the mountain. Behind the first rock and up the mountain about 5 steps, Ty the Turtle is hiding under some pine needles just on top of the second rock that is hidden by trees. Once you have found Ty the Turtle, put him back in his home and go back to the bike trail to look for Sneaky the snake.

#2- to find SNEAKY THE SNAKE:
From the two large rocks keep walking west on the bike trail until you come to a bunch of logs on the right. (not too far from Ty the Turtle) Once you have reached these logs, count 10 steps on the bike trail and go up the small hill on the right until you are on the top in the middle of the dip. You will see a small flat square rock slightly on your right. Have a seat there and make sure no one is coming. Look to your right under some pine trees. Be careful, Sneaky moves from tree to tree. Once you have slipped Sneaky back into his snakehole, go back to the bike trail. You are on your way to find Frizz the Frog.

#3- to find FRIZZ THE FROG:
Keep walking west on the bike trail, you will see the second metal bridge, don't cross it! To your left, you will see a small trail that leads to the creek. If there is no water you can walk up the creek bed, if there is water in the creek stay to the left of the creek. Take about 30 steps. To your left you will see a big tree that is tall, and a big tree that is NOT.

We hope you have enjoyed our pond series. Please rehide everyone well! Enjoy the beauty of North Idaho. See you again soon!

**Watch out for non-letterboxers, this stretch of the trail is pretty busy!**
