Directions to Monarch Sculpture Park (monarchsculpturepark.com)
8431 Waldrick Rd SE, Tenino, WA 98589
I-5 South past Olympia
Take Exit 99, turn east on 93rd Ave. S.E.
3.8 miles to 3rd stop sign: turn south on Old Hwy 99
2.3 miles: turn east on Waldrick Road S.E.
5 miles to railroad tracks,
0.7 miles to Butterfly Tree, a multi-colored iron sculpture where
you turn to enter the park
Whew! You made it. Finding the box should be a piece of cake! Take a park map and check out the 100 outdoor sculptures. As you head toward the Butterfly Maze you might feel like a game of croquet. You are getting warmer. Now cross over Spring Creek. The box is not toward the giant hand holding pick up sticks. It is hiding in a garden where it can hear happy people playing music. See a harp, a guitar, an African Pit Drum, and a structure with about 45 pipes hanging from it? Take a moment to bang on the pipes with hammers. At the 45 pipes structure, stand facing the creek, glance left and go to the birch tree with two wooden balls stuck onto it. Behind this tree, between the fingers of roots, under a small rock...you're burning hot!!
Add your stamp to the book and enjoy the rest of your tour! Consider dropping some money into the donation box. This park is operated by volunteers and donations.
