Kincaid is a family with distinguished history in Scotland, the clan currently recognized on the Council of Chiefs. West Virginia resembles the Highlands of Scotland, so it is little wonder that a good many Scots settled down here once coming to America.

The town of Kincaid is located on Route 61 and you can get there either through Montgomery, WV or through Oak Hill, WV. You will need to turn up Kincaid Cemetary Road (it looks like you are going through someone's pasture) to the top of the knoll where there is a slight widening of the road with a gate. You will see another gravel road to your left going up the hill into the cemetary. Park and then walk up this road to the top. There will be a headstone saying "Kincaid" with the names of a family on it -- Florence, Harvey and "Newt." From this stone walk into the cemetary, staying near the back edge, and find the stone saying Ernest E. Grose (he was an infant). From here take an azimuth of 60 degress to a tree with a diameter of 2 feet. It is the second tree on the azimuth, and is hollow.

Bring your own pen and ink pad.
