Driving westbound through Idaho, stop at the rest area just past American Falls. Take your break then pull forward. Park near the Oregon Trail Historical Site sign.
Walk southwest on this historic path as it gradually slopes downhill. You will suddenly see the reservoir ahead just before the path turns sharply left. Note the small cedar on the left of the path. From this fragrant tree walk 20 steps at 90 degrees uphill. You should be at the last of 3 trees in a row. Look under this tree beneath an anchoring rock and branches.
