Bring your pooch along to find this letterbox. Start at the corner of Clipper and Douglas. Head up the hill on Douglas, passing a children’s playground on your right. At the second stop sign turn right and park. You will see an abandoned baseball field that is now a dog play area. Enter the dog park and follow the fence on your right all the way around until you come to a gate (just before the fence heads uphill). Count 4 trees to the right of the gate. It is the largest tree with what looks like 4-5 trunks. At the back part of the tree, at about eye level, there is a crook in the tree. The letterbox is in this crook under some wood chips.
This letter box was planted by two gals who were roommates in college almost 30 years ago. One gal came to SF for a visit. They were joined by a daughter and a dog.
