Our First Letterbox! This is an easy trail, great for kids (no strollers, there are one or two steep hills) as there is a small playground and a "sliding rock" by a stream.

This letterbox is Spencer's first stamp. This box is in honor and memory of our pet rabbit, Michael Chocolate.

The box is in Pinewoods Park in Hyde Park. Park by the playground. There is an information kiosk that talks about the type of rocks, plants and animals in the park. Follow the signs for the Nature Trail Loop (0.7 mile walk)

Go through the path cut between the set of fallen trees. Walk 25 steps forward.

To your left is a large rectangular rock ridge. Go stand on the rock. There is a fallen tree leading from the rock up to the top of the ridge. Follow the log.

To your right is a group of fallen trees. There are 2 small fallen maple trees in this group between 2 fallen trees (the maples were still green and growing and horizontal when we planted the box) Behind that maple root ball is hidden our box.

Continue down the path and make a right at the end of the trail. Follow the trail and the waterfall sounds and play on the sliding rock!
