This box is a moderate to difficult box. It is not recommended that small children under the age of 9 or so attempt retrieval of this box. It could even be considered dangerous by some. Use extreme caution when retrieving this box because of it's precarious location.

From Columbia, take 63 North for approximately 12 miles. You will find Pinnacles Road on your right. Turn right onto Pinnacles road (which immediately turns sharply left.) Follow this for about a mile until you reach Pinnacles Youth Park. Park where you like (I recommend the shade.) When you turned into the park, you should have notice the road continuing on to your left over a short bridge. Begin your journey at this bridge.

Walk about 30 paces past this bridge (25 if you have long legs, 35 if you have short legs.) You will notice a path right beyond the fence on your right among the "No parking" signs. Take this path. You will continue slowly "up" until you reach the top of the hill. Continue on the path as it leads to the pinnacles for which the area is named. There are a few lookout spots along the way for you to enjoy the sights. Continue on this path along the rocks. CAUTION: There will be several places with steep drops along the trail. Continue on until you see a giant hole in the rocks facing the creek on your right. Go ahead, have a seat, get a drink of water and relax a bit. Get up...continue on. At some point, you will see the "tallest" pinnacle among the rocks. This is where you are headed.

Once you reach the tallest peak, continue on for about 30 feet (it's hard to count paces among the rock climbing.) You should see a medium sized oak tree right in the middle of the path among the rocks. (The rock formations begin to level out here also.) If you look to the right of the trail, you should see a small opening or "bridge" in the rocks. Go ahead and crawl down there (you're going to need to.) Once you're able to stand up, you need to face NE. You will see another "bridge" about 15 feet or so in front of you. Make your way VERY CAREFULLY to this bridge. Guess what? You need to crawl down into this one too. CAUTION: This space is very limited and steep, use the utmost of care.

Once you get your footing, you will see an opening underneath the pinnacles. It's not really a cave, just a small hole if you will. You'll see roots, and the underside of the rocks above. Face North once inside this hole. You will find among the few movable rocks the jewelry you seek.

I highly recommend taking the box out of the hiding spot to stamp in as it IS very precarious. Additionally, you may wish to take a flashlight to make the final retrieval easier if you don't see well in the dark.

One final note. I believe there is another path or way around to the pinnacles which is not as difficult (but may include creek crossings.) I've never gone that way but it may be worth the adventure.
