This box is located at the Ionia State Recreational Area south of Ionia and near Saranac on David Highway at the intersection of Jordan Lake Road. This is a state park and park rates do apply. Trail maps are available at the entry booth and are needed for some clues. I hope you enjoy! Let me know.

This is a moderate walk with some hills and narrow paths about 1 mile round trip.

Clues:

From hiking post #8 near the boat launch head into the woods toward hiking post #9. Pass the rest rooms and take a left following the trail. Down the steps and say thank you to the Exchange Workers from The Netherlands and the Civilian Conservation Corps. Travel along the path and up a nice hill to view a great ledge overlooking the stream you just left. Proceed down the hill and say thank you to the Michigan Youth Corps for their work in 1986 (Even thought it may look like 1988). Up the hill and say thank you to a scout of the highest honor by the name of Riley Perrone of Troop 83. Through the marshy area and up another hill to the bench (I am sure you need it by now) overlooking a very scenic valley. From the bench travel along the path to your right, down the hill a short bit you will find a large stone on your right. From this stone gaze to 210 degrees and find two large trees making a V. At the base of one of these trees Have a Ball.
