My wife and I have rented a cabin between Ely and Tower for the past two summers. We really look forward to our time up north and consider it our time of "Bliss" for the summer. We hope that your journey to this letterbox will allow you to appreciate the beauty of the area as we have.

Directions:

1. Heading north on MN State HWY 169 turn left on Main Street (approx. 2 miles past Tower). You will be heading toward Mckinley Park and the Soudan Mine. If you see mile marker #265, you've gone too far.

2. Follow Main Street to "Soudan's Only Store". It is a gas station/convenience store and home to some excellent ice cream. You may choose to stop to sample one of their many flavors.

3. From there, travel on county road 697 (also known as Hoodoo Point Road) for 3.1 miles. You will go past Mckinley Park and Tower Municipal Airport.

4. Park at the first gravel pull-out area past Hoodoo Point Campground. It is actually a public boat landing.

5. Walk toward the fishing pier behind you, stopping at the cement slab in the grassy area.

6. Standing in the center of the slab, facing the lake, notice the largest tree directly in front of you (on the shore line).

7. Under the tree, you will notice two large rocks. Where the rocks come together, we hope that you will find bliss!

Please rehide well.
