Estimated Time: 2 minutes once you're at the chapel
Terrain: Grass. Very easy. OK for kids.
Update: On October 10, 2010 this letterbox was relocated within the same general area. We moved it further from the grumpy neighbor's house! It's also a much quicker find now, yet still an interesting place to visit.

Huletts Landing is one of the oldest settlements on Lake George. It was first settled by the Dutch in the late seventeenth century. The village was named after an early farmer named Harvey Hulett.

There are two beautiful churches in Huletts Landing. The first being the Chapel of the Assumption Catholic Church of Huletts Landing, circa 1900. (Summer services on Sundays.) Also, a beautiful non-denominational stone chapel named the Mountain Grove Memorial Church was built by the community in 1922. This is the site of our Mountain Grove Letterbox. Please be respectful as you travel through this historic site. Walking through the cemetery you’ll see a number of family names that were used to name islands and villages in the area.

Start at the Mountain Grove Cemetery’s main gate. Enter the cemetery and find the tree that gives the Bordens shade. Go to the backside of the tree and look up.

PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN INK PAD.
