Estimated Time: 5-10 minutes once you're on the island
Terrain: Typical Lake George island trails. Last leg is moderately steep. OK for kids.
10/10/10 letterbox reported in good condition.
The Dollar Islands were reportedly purchased in the 1850's by the State of NY for one dollar. The islands are now valued at well over one hundred thousand dollars. West Dollar Island is a day use island. Please visit Glen Island to obtain a permit, enjoy a nice picnic and let us know how we did hiding our first letterbox!
Start at the fireplace on the east side of the main picnic pavilion. Walk south approximately 60 (adult) steps. On your right you should now see a large rock with a small cedar tree at it's south end. (If you've reached the next fireplace you've gone too far.) At the cedar tree take a right and carefully follow an overgrown trail down towards the water. Take a left at the bottom of the cliff wall. Directly in front of you look for 2 trees very close together. The letterbox is at the base of these trees. Go below the trees and look in the rocks underneath.
PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN INK PAD.
