This Letterbox is in East Harbor State Park. This area is known to be on the flyway for bird migration.

Clues:
First Step----Enter East Harbor State Park from Route 269. At some point find the exit road which is a two lane one-way road. On the exit road just a bit past the 20 mph speed limit signs (there are two of them---one for each lane), there is an area with and information sign, and a couple of picnic tables. You can park on the grass.

Second Step----The Most Important Step (Remember that !!!)
Once you are standing by the information sign, look due north and you will see a fairly wide, grassy path into the woods. Follow that trail until it comes to a T intersection. Turn right and walk for 65 steps or so always bearing to the left. You will come to a bird observation platform or deck. Climb the steps and look out over Middle Harbor. Enjoy the view and looks for egrets, ducks, swans, and blue herons. The box is very close to you and you will find it if you remember the "Most Important Step".

The State Park folks have cleared the area around the observation platform of brush, etc. and the view has been improved.

Email the placer if you find it, or have troubles. It should be easy.

This box needed some first aid but the planter of the box fixed it up on June 18, 2009. It needed a new logbook so one was added, but the old logbook was put back in the box so new finder can see just how many folks have found the box.
