This box is a part of the Parade of Books Letterbox Series. The clues lead from box to box. You should check the first box in the series, Lord of the Flies, for general trail information.

“In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. … It had a perfectly round door like a porthole, painted green, with a shiny yellow brass knob in the exact middle”. The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings are amongst my favorite books of all time. I have lost track of how many times I have reread them. Enter the door into Bilbo Baggin’s house and this wonderful story.

To enter Bilbo’s door, continue down the trail from To Kill a Mockingbird. You will pass an access road to Pebble Creek Flyers, and if you are lucky may get to see some low flying planes. You can learn about kames along the way. Cross the bridge. There is a park on the left with athletic fields, a playground, and bathrooms. This is Sunset Park in Genesee, another place where you can access the trail. Continuing on the trail you will find the 3 mile marker. You will see large stones forming a path up the hill to your right. Follow these up to a power pole. To the left of the pole is a pile of large stone. Stand on the largest of these and the Hobbit is hidden at the back of this stone under smaller stones.
