8/6/08 We checked on this box last week and it was missing...we hope that someone simply had it out of view and was stamping the log book. We will check on it again in a week or two... in the meantime, drop us a line if you check on it first. ~ Thanks

This box is hidden at Pine Hill Lake which is a cute little state park just southeast of the town of Pine Hill off of Route 28. A great place to visit any time of the year. A cost of $6 to drive in, $1 to walk in (you can easily do the box if you walk in (15 min total) or 'free' if you have the Empire State Parks Pass...

You may want a tree guide for this one...

Clues ~

Find the set of wooden stairs that are located between two clusters of cedar trees.

Follow the steps down to the benches resting in the middle of the towering pines. Sit a moment and enjoy the birds' bathing area and the garden. In the early summer you can enjoy the tiger lilies, and later in the season there is a huge variety of flowers to admire. When we hid the box we explored a few raised veggie beds. There were carrots, lettuce and tomatos... It made me want a salad.

Continue down the paved path and stop at the mulberry tree just before the road.

Head to your right toward the apple tree. I bet it is beautiful in the springtime. A perfect place to read on a spring day...

Now head toward the little covered bridge along the right side of the exit road. Watch the little ones, there is a dropoff if they get into the woodline.

Look for four hemlocks guarding a mighty oak. The box is hidden in the notch at the base of the oak that is guarded by these trees.

Please let us know how it went... and for those of you who who were waiting... sorry and thank you:)
