Greetings Central Ohio Letterboxers!
The Delaware County Friends of the Trail are conducting their annual Community Ties Bike Tour this Saturday, July 28. In addition to the 75- and 40-mile rides, there is an 8-mile Family Fun Ride along the shaded Genoa Trail, a beautiful, flat, easy-to-ride section of the Ohio-to-Erie trail.
All who participate in the Family Fun Ride will receive clues for SIX letterboxes that have been hidden along the trail for this event.
These are all easy-to-get to, not far off the trail, and should be a lot of fun for families. (I designed the series with my 6- and 4-year olds in mind).
At the halfway point of the ride is a choclate chip cookie station.
The cost for this event is $20 per family. All proceeds benefit the Delaware County Friends of the Trail, a non-profit organization dedicated to trail maintenance and advocacy in Delaware County.
The family ride is set to roll at 9 a.m. The start and finish is at the Home Depot, located at 5017 Maxtown road - just north of Westerville in Delaware County.
You can register online for this event here:
http://www.active.com/page/Event_Details.htm?event_id=1453229
Or at the event itself.
You can learn more about Delaware County Friends of the Trail at www.dcft.org.
Hope to see you there for a fund morning of bike riding, letterboxing and home made cookies. Good times!
