Directions: to the park
Traveling EAST take Rt. 50 (Columbia Parkway) Take the Rt.125 Beechmont
Ave. exit off the Parkway. After right turn (continuous). Take another
right at the first street on right. (Wilmer Rd.) At the next light take
a right onto Beechmont Circle (continuous right ) Keep going right until
you are on Beechmont Ave. Then take another Right onto Harold. (to Rt.
50 sign )Left at the light (Eastern Ave.) Short distance take a Left on
Heekin Ave.
Traveling West:
Rt.50 (Columbia Pky.) Exit Rt.50 (truck route) Take a Right onto Heekin
Ave. to the park entrance.
At the top of the hill you will be at the park entrance .At the first
stop sign take a Right
Continue past a driveway on your right. Park in the first parking area
to your right across from the "Gardens"
Clues
>From the parking lot.
Start at the most Western trail head .
(A stump will be on your Right after a few steps down the trail.)
Ascending the hill you will come to a wooden bench on your left.
Then some stone steppers .
Finally wooden 4X4 steps.
At the first intersection you will see a wooden foot bridge .(ignore it
)Take a Right turn ( North ) to the next trail intersection.
You will see another wooden bridge .
>From the West end of the bridge head 320º. a huge tree is lying at a
N-S direction . On the top of the tree under a rock about 4 paces from
the North end is the letterbox.
