Heritage Park: From I-5 or I-205 take Hwy 14 East. Take exit 12 (6th Ave). You will continue on this road past the paper mill. Continue on 6th Avenue for 6 more blocks. Turn left on Garfield Street. You will go up a hill, wind sharply left and come to a stop sign. At the stop sign of Everett, take a right (you'll see Top Burger on your right and Crown Park on your left)and follow "Hwy 500 West" signs for about a mile until you get to a stop light for Lake Road. Take a left at the light and just after the Moose Lodge is Heritage Park on your right. There are restrooms, picnic tables and a nice play area.
The boxes are on the Lacamas Lake Heritage Trail that follows the south side of the lake for 3 miles.( Our boxes will just take you past the 1/2 mile mark so it's an easy 1 mile roundtrip walk!) It's a beautiful wooded, gravel trail for walkers, joggers and mountain bikers. Park at Heritage Park and you will find a paved path heading west from the restrooms marked by 3 wood poles on each side of the driveway. Follow this paved path past the Lakeside Trailer Court until you reach an open area with benches, a rock wall and a view of the lake. The trail and your adventure begin here! This is a well used trail so be aware of others as you are looking and rehide carefully!

****BOXES 1, 3, and 4 are missing as of 8/08. We will replace soon!****

Box #1 Hop To It! (If you're quiet you might see a bunny! You might hear a bush or two rustle, it's probably a bunny!)
From the trail head, follow the trail west as it curves to the left where the lake almost touches the trail. Look out and see the lily pads, ducks and geese. Take the first small path that branches off to the right. Go about 10 paces and on the left you will see a small tree that V's from the base. At the base of the V under some leaves and sticks you will find "Hop To It!". Please re-hide very carefully!! Thank you!

Box #2 I "Sea" It! (Guess what? Not all seaweed is green! It can be blue, brown and even red! Almost three quarters of our planet is covered in water!)
Continue west on the trail. After you pass the 1/4 mile mark start looking for a tree on your left that leans over the trail. There is another tree leaning on it that looks like it's pointing to the lake. At this spot is a small path on your right that leads to the lake. Duck under a low branch and pretend to swim for about 5 strokes. The first group of trees on your left has grass around the base. On the north side of the trees under moss, leaves and sticks you will find the box, announce, "I Sea It!" Please cover and re-hide very well! Thank you!

Box #3 Walking on Sunshine ("I'm walking on sunshine woo-hoo, I'm walking on sunshine, it's gonna feel good!")
Continue west on the trail. You will soon pass a gravel trail that splits off to the right and goes uphill. It leads to the Lacamas Shores neighborhood. Continue on the main trail. You will see a drainage pipe and then a bench on your left. Stop and sit on the bench and enjoy the view maybe even hum or sing the song, I'm walking on sunshine! Then, turn your back to the lake and trail and sit on the bench facing south. You will see a fallen log that looks a bit like a dogs head with big ears. Reach into the dog's mouth and find the letterbox. Please push back in and cover when you are done! Thank you!

Box #4 Space Trails (Here are 3 space questions for you. Find the box to get the answers! 1. What are Saturn's rings made of? 2. How many moons does Jupiter have? 3. What is the shape of the constellation of Libra?)
Continue west on the trail and you will see the 1/2 mile marker. Soon you will see a large tree on your left that leans toward the lake. It is growing out of the bank on your left. It has an archway in it's trunk on the west side of the tree.If you look across the lake you will see a boat ramp slightly to your left. Climb through the archway (from the trail it's at about eye level to an adult so you will literally "climb" onto the bank. There you will see a crater where the tree meets the ground. In the crater under some bark you'll find Space Trails! Please re-hide carefully! Thank you!
