The Cibolo Creek is a treasure that arises from springs on the outskirts of Boerne and meanders 100 miles southeast to its confluence with the San Antonio River. It was named by early Native Americans and means "buffalo". Alternating from shallow, rocky flats to deep, mossy canyons and sprinkled with scenic falls, it offers stunning scenery and opportunities for every type of nature lover. The Cibolo Nature Center, located on the creek in Boerne, is 100 acres of Hill Country trails and wilderness dedicated to promoting conservation of natural resources through education and stewardship. The building houses touch-exhibits that will entertain people of all ages, and the nature trails meander through four ecosystems. It is also part of the Cibolo Loop described on the Heart Of Texas Wildlife Trail - East map. Though this microbox is the only "buffalo" you will see, other wildlife viewing is possible.

Directions:
From San Antonio, take I10 West about 30 miles to the first Boerne exit (#542)and follow Hwy 87 north into downtown Boerne. It becomes Main Street, which is also called Hauptstrasse. Turn right at Hwy 46 East, also marked as River Road, and go about one mile, then turn right onto City Park Road (if you reach the Kendall County Fairgrounds you have gone too far). Take City Park Road almost to the end and turn right into the Cibolo Nature Center and park.

Clues:
Walk west to the dinosaur tracks just to the right of the pavilion. Continue west on the trail and cross the wood bridge. On the far side, look right for a medium size tree about 5 steps off trail. The camo microbox is on the back side hanging from a branch about 5 feet high and 4 feet left of the trunk when looking from the back side. There are some benches nearby for stamping in. Please replace as described.
