Metroparks entrance directly across from White Road off of SOM Center Road in Mayfield Village. Enter park road and turn to your right - cross new bridge and park in the area where OxBow Road meets Buttermilk Falls Road. On your left, you will see a map kiosk. Follow the bridle trail which runs parallel to the road until you come to the sign post showing the brown squirrel trail. This trail runs next to a very steep ravine. Watch the tree roots and be careful but enjoy the magnificent views. At the next sign post follow the squirrel sign straight ahead. You will cross a wooden bridge and then two more bridges. Approximately 18 paces forward on the path after the third bridge, turn right off the trail approximately 12 paces until you come to "contemplation rock". If you sit on the rock and contemplate you can't miss the letterbox. If this doesn't work, check out the base of the rock. To return you can go left and repeat on the same path or go right and just about double the length and will loop back to a crossroads where there is a sign post showing "exit". This will take you back to the parking area. The whole hike was about 1 1/2 miles. Not a lot of up and down hills so you could push a stroller or it's good for the elderly like us.
