Driving and walking directions:

Exit 18 on I-89 and follow Rte. 120 into the Lebanon green (rotary). Go right onto Church Street, which is the street between the fire station and the First Congregational Church. Turn right on Spring street, go across the bridge and enter Storrs Hill Ski area and Godwin Park on the left. This is only about 1/2 mile, a nice walk through country neighorhoods if you choose to park your car on the green. There's plenty of parking at Storrs Hill ski area also.

Go along the left side the ski lodge and follow the road down the hill (not uphill). You will pass a small shed on the left. Look for a low ridge on the left and take 23 steps from the beginning of the ridge, then head to the top. Look behind a trap door (a pile of rocks). Hugo is waiting.

My best friend, Hugo, and I walked around Lebanon, NH every day for a couple of years when I had leg/hip pain. Hugo and I shop, go to concerts in the park, visit restaurants and letterbox. You will see a photo of Hugo if you find his hiding place.

Storrs Hil is the only year-round ski training facility in New England. Indeed, New Hampshire is the last remaining state in the country in which ski jumping is an inter-scholastic sport. Most of the staff are volunteers.

You will also enjoy exporing other areas of Lebanon, N.H., which in 2008 was named by SPORTS ILLUSTRATED magazine as the #1 sports town in N.H.
