THIS BOX IS MISSING, SO I HAVE RETIRED IT. IT WILL NOT BE REPLACED.

George Bryan Brummel, more famously known by his nickname “Beau Brummel,” or simply “The Beau,” was a famous dandy (a man known for his fashionable dress, elegance, and wit) in England during the Regency period, a trend setter and arbiter of fashion for "the ton" (You want to know what that means? Look it up. I am not referring, by the way, to a measure of weight). He was born on June 7, 1778, London and died penniless and insane in France on March 30, 1840, demonstrating, perhaps that spending 5 hours a day getting dressed, having your boots polished with champagne, and calling the Prince of Wales fat is not ultimately a recipe for success. (By the way, gents, apparently you have The Beau to thank/blame for the modern suit and necktie). For some reason unbeknownst to me, there is a street named for him in Sleepy Hollow, and so I decided to honor him with a letterbox, because...

Your clothes may be Beau Brummelly,
They stand out a mile, but brother,
You’re never fully dressed without a smile!*

As Beau Brummel was surely aware.

From US 90 take the exit for 31 N. Take a left onto Bonkosky Rd and follow it to the end. Turn right onto Sleepy hollow Rd. ***BE AWARE! When entering the village of Sleepy Hollow, you MUST obey the 25 MPH posted speed limit or risk getting a ticket. They’re very serious about their speed limits there.*** At the stop sign, you will find yourself at a slightly off-kilter 4-way stop. IF you took a left, you would be on Beau Brummel Drive, but instead you will take a right onto Thorobred Lane. You will very shortly come to a park; park at the playground and cross the street to get to the gazebo. Stand between the water and the gazebo, facing the gazebo. To the left is a ramp into the gazebo; the box is under the ramp. ****PLEASE replace it carefully so that it will not be seen, but will also not be so far under the ramp that the next finder will not be able to reach it and think it is gone.
