Congress Park is located in the heart of downtown Saratoga Springs. It is a great place for a leisurely stroll or picnic as you visit the Spa City. There are numerous points of interest within the park, including the historic Canfield Casino, the beautifully restored Congress Park Carousel, several springs, and of course its ponds and fountains, where ducks have been known to reside in the summer.

As you enter the park by car, you will see the brick-faced Canfield Casino on your left. Across the road are the twin vases, Day and Night. Walk along the paths past a rotunda surrounded by a pond and fountain. Hopefully you will catch sight of the ducks swimming in the pond.

Continue on the path to a circular pool with a wrought-iron crown. Making a wish is always an option. Please be discreet as you proceed further. Bear left, and just as you begin to ascend the gravel path, look right and choose of one made of earth, ascending to evergreens. Go straight up this slope to the topmost pine rooted just beneath a grassy lawn. Look to the roots to discover where your treasure hides. After stamping and carefully rehiding the box, take a couple of steps up to the lawn and relax on a bench, enjoying the view of the park below. If you wish, instead of retracing your steps, you may bear right and walk along a pleasant path to return to the Casino and parking area.

The carousel is usually open during summer, and is located at the other end of the park (the north side)past the Casino building. The hand carved horses are have been carefully restored. Enjoy this and other sights in the park for a great oasis from the hustle and bustle of downtown.
