NEW STAMP! I'VE CHANGED TO A HAND-CARVED STAMP AS OF MAY 20, 2008
Hand-carved stamp

Coming from the South on Highway 41:

Pass the Portage Lake Golf Course on the left, then "Pilgrim Point" on your right. Go over small bridge, Nara Nature Trail on right, Nara Nature Park on left. (JUST past the bridge.) If you pass Ferrelgas on left, you've gone too far.

Go up drive to Humane Society - basically a U-turn from the road, then another U-turn. Park across from the building on the right. (It's currently being renovated.) Look for the "Snowshoe Trail" sign, take the path to the left of it. They are in the process of resurfacing the trail, so unfortunately, it may be muddy if it has rained. Since there's no snow, skip the sled trail, take the trail to the left instead.

Follow the River Trail to the curve - WATCH for 2 way traffic! Go around the bend, pass the tree that's laying on it's side. On to the next tree on left that is wide & high in the sky.

Pass the tree, turn 90 degrees to the left. Walk approximately 15 paces. Find the tree with many trunks, the treasure can be found there!

Happy hunting!! And visit the kitties and doggies while you're there - they love visitors! The Copper Country Humane Society is a no-kill shelter, so consider adopting one of the animals if you can! They're open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 4-8, and 12-5 on Saturday.
