This stamp was designed by Mr. Snail and carved by Saxy while vacationing at Moab. We all live in Park City, Utah except Dulcimer Doll (our grandmother) who lives in Grain Valley, Missouri.

This letterbox is accessible by 4-wheel drive vehicles and bikes. We found the Dino Dig Letterbox hiding place while on a family bike hike. We drove the trail in Dad’s truck when Grandma came to help us hide the letterbox. Experienced bikers will know the route as the Monitor and Merrimac Trail.

Clues
Drive north on Highway 191 about 15 miles to mile marker 141. Immediately turn left (west) on Mill Canyon Road. Cross the railroad tracks. There is a parking area on the right if biking. Go .6 miles to the first information kiosk. Turn left and go 1.1 miles to the Mill Canyon sign. Look carefully for the small white sign “Dino” in the upper right hand corner.

Turn right at the T. It is .6 miles to two more information kiosks at the dinosaur bone interpretive hike trailhead.. After reading the left kiosk, turn to your left and take the footpath to the crest before the trail descends down the hill. Go down the path 7 paces from the large boulder on the left. On the right is a small flat rock where the letterbox is hidden under some rocks.

While here take the foot trail to view the fossilized dinosaur bones indicated by white markers. The Halfway Stagecoach ruins are also easily accessible nearby.
