5/26/2010 Alive & well
11/19/2011 - Status Unknown! Reported trail markers have been replaced. May need to tweak clues...Probably won't be checked until after deer hunting season.

Corvette Central. Corvette enthusiasts have probably known about it since the mid 70's when a tool & die maker, a Corvette restorer, established this business for reproduction Corvette parts. I became curious about it at work - throwing parcels...They send and receive A LOT of parcels! I had picked up a cool stamp at Centreville Antiques Market. I believe it was used in a printing press.

From I-94, Sawyer Exit #12. North on Sawyer Rd about .3 mile ( a bit before the traffic signal) onto Three Oaks Rd. About 1 mile you'll see the Corvette Central facility. Impressive. Another .2 mile to Harbert Rd. Turn Left. .5 mile to entrance Harbert Nature Trail Preserve.

Take the grassy path to the Orloff Shelter, choose the woodsy way and proceed into the Forest. Don't go wrong at the Y. Around a bend, a sunshine topped post on one side of the trail, an old stump on the other. The stump holds the letterbox. 5/26/2010. A tree has fallen and smashed the stump! The sawed off end is near the trail. The 'box is there on the back side of the stump covered with bark.
