Welcome to the newest series from Songchick, the "Good Eats" series. Besides letterboxing, we enjoy going out to eat at the many quality local restaurants in the Triple Series area. This series will highlight some of our favorite places to stop and get a bite to eat. This is an ongoing series, so more boxes will be added in the future.
The first stop on the Good Eats gastronomic adventure is the Coffee Cabin. It's a small drive up log cabin that serves about the best coffee around. It's my personal start to the day each morning as well.
Coffee Cabin is located on the Old Vestal Road in Vestal, NY. behind the Town Square Mall, and across the street from the Kia dealership. If you're not familiar with the area, take Rt. 434 until you get to Sycamore Road. Turn down Sycamore (go past Lowe's and the east end of Town Square Mall). At the light, take a right onto Old Vestal Road. Coffee Cabin will be about 1/10th of a mile on your right.
Directions to the Good Eats - Coffee Cabin Letterbox:
1. Find the flag. This may be tricky if you go when they're closed. In that case, find where the flag would be.
2. From the flag, walk 18 paces at 140 degrees.
3. Stop, and look down to your left. GE - Coffee Cabin is located under the traditional pile of rocks, sticks and leaves.
Please keep in mind that this is a VERY busy section of Vestal. Be discreet, and hide the box WELL when you're done.
