This one is a letterbook at the Jefferson County Library in Madras.

The library is at the corner of 7th and E, just a couple blocks east of the main highway.

It is open these hours:
Monday-Thursday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Closed on Sunday.

This letterbox is part of the library's summer reading program. The summer reading theme this year is "Get a Clue @ your library," so letterboxing fits right in.

To understand the clues, you'll need some knowledge of children's literature. Here they are:

To find the letterbox called “Get a Clue,”
Look for these volumes to get your cues.

Be sure to keep them one after the other.
If they get out of order—oh, brother!

If you find yourself in a fog,
Feel free to use the catalog.

1. “Summer Reading” is how it all begins.
You’re looking for a warped trio, not twins.

2. The next title is mentioned on page 15—
It’s about the biggest chicken you’ve never seen.

3. Get out of Hoboken and head for the prairie
With Laura and Mary and baby Carrie.

4. Some parents and teachers hate this one,
but boys, especially, think it’s lots of fun.
There’s plenty of humor, a bit of drama,
And it finishes up with a flip-o-rama.
Look! Under there! (I just made you say
“underwear.”)

5. Have you ever heard of this before:
A dog named after a grocery store?
Because of his sneezes, because of his grins,
Because of this dog, Opal makes some new friends.

6. For this title’s nickname, perhaps this will suit:
“Jimbo and the Jumbo Fuzzy Fruit.”
