This involves a little bit of hiking, so be sure to wear your hiking shoes!
Enter Raccoon Lake SRA at the main entrance on SR36. Follow the signs on the main road, to the Beach parking area. Park your car here and walk to the SOUTH BEACH SHELTER. This will be on the SOUTH side of the parking lot. There is a paved road leading up to the shelter.
Once at the shelter, stand on the outside wall of the shelter with your back against the stone chimney.
Look straight ahead of you and you will see a tree that's trunk is shaped like a "V". Look directly through the "V" into a clearing ahead. From the chimney walk 52 paces (pace = 2 steps) to the beginning of the trail and to the quest for your "sole"
Follow the trail up a hill to a patch of green grass. Here the trail goes left or right. Follow the trail to the left and keep going until you come out of the clearing by the Main Road into the Park. In front of you will be a cluster of 3 trees. You will see a trail marker "2" sign on your left. Continue walking to the left. The trail will pick up again just past the gravel road and the water pump station on the left.
Follow the trail until you see a big Elm tree on the left with a branch "pointing" the way you are to go. Farther along the trail you will see another big Elm tree in a tangle of vines on your left, you are almost there. Stop now at the "mossy" rock on your left. Peek through the Sycamore's window at the base of the tree 5 spaces away. There will be several fallen trees on the right side of the trail directly across from it. Look behind the tree and you will find a hollow spot with your reward hidden there, under some brush and bark.
