*****Someone reported this missing, but when we were back in town we found it--maybe check your paces??*****
The Poland Municipal Forest is where I grew up catching crayfish and searching for wildflowers with my friends. I lived just down the street. Every Spring, people come from all over to see the profusion of bluebells growing in the woods. See if you can find our bluebell letterbox!
From I-680, exit onto US-224 toward Poland.
Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto S MAIN ST / OH-170.
Turn RIGHT onto College Street.
College Street dead ends right into the forest. Park in the small lot by the gate.
Walk through the gate.
When you get to two splits in the path, walk left both times.
Enter through the Poland Municipal Forest gate on the left.
Turn right onto Bluebell Trail.
Cross a concrete bridge.
After checking it out, pass the huge hollow tree on your right--you can see the sky up through the trunk!
Pass the large "elbow tree" on your right.
Take a left at the cut-out arrow.
Walk across the swinging bridge. If you have your little sister with you, make sure you freak her out by jumping up and down while she's walking across it!
Turn right onto the trail on the other side of the bridge.
Once you get to a pointed stump on your right, notice the path going downhill right in front of it.
From the top of that trail, go downhill 20 paces (1 pace=2 steps).
1/2 way up the hill on your left will be a tree that is still standing, but looks as if it has been broken in two.
The letterbox is hidden at the bottom of this tree.
