Abolitionist, suffragist, and first female doctor of medicine
Elizabeth Blackwell serves as model, hero, and inspiration for women

Begin at the statue of Elizabeth that honors her courage
At her alma mater (formerly Geneva College)

From the path at her back, between Gulick and Hale
Continue ‘til the first path that is avail

Turn left and stroll the neighborhood until Jay
Then right you will head ‘til shortly spotting a sign that says “wrong way”

Walk the wrong way and enjoy this illicit perambulation
And on your left you will spy a brick-walled sunken garden

Oh, what delight! Enter the garden and exult
Then look north, behind the right pillar of brick to find your result

With Elizabeth in this garden, it is a pleasure to dwell
But please remember to cover her well!
