The Gilboa Museum letterbox is located off of Rt. 990V in the Town of Gilboa. To reach the town, take Route 30 South from Middleburgh. You will make a left onto route 990V. Go down the hill, at the foot of the hill, you will see a left hand turn (1st left) this is Stryker Road. Make the left and your first right into the driveway for the Gilboa Museum. Head towards the white museum building. Approaching the musuem you will see large piles of rocks. Starting at the pile closest to the museum, go to the third pile of rocks. Under this pile in a hollow behind a stone, is what you seek.

Please re-cover with the stone well, as this is a very open area.

The Gilboa Museum is open weekends from May until October. Exhibits change often.

Have you found the Gilboa Fossils letterbox? To reach this letterbox, make a left out of the driveway from the museum and make a left onto route 990V. go 3/10 of a mile (across the bridge) and make a left into the gilboa fossils parking lot. (if you've passed the post office you've gone too far.) You'll see the large "bolder-looking" rocks. These however, are actual fossilized trees that were growing millions of years ago. To the left of the main display, look for the Root System Fossil. Slightly right and behind the root system fossil, go about 20 steps into the brushy area. Look for 3 tree stumps. In the middle stump is what you seek.

Please re hide well, as this is in a fairly open and well visited spot.
