Level of Difficulty: Easy
Time: .2 mile Round Trip

Directions:

Earth Day was planted at the Rensselaerville Falls in the Edmund Niles Huyck Preserve in Rensselaerville, NY. From Albany, take Route 85 southwest 27 miles into the Village of Rensselaerville. At the stop sign, turn right onto Route 353 and drive a short distance. The parking lot for the preserve is behind a big white house (on the right) right BEFORE the bridge.

**You will need your own ink pad and a pen.

** These clues are the beginning of my Earth Day letterbox if you wish to go on and find it.

Clues:

Take the trail out of the parking lot. You will soon walk over a 3 plank wooden bridge overlooking the bottom of the Falls. (**If this bridge is still closed due to flooding, you must walk back to the parking lot and take a right up to the road a tiny bit, walk over the road's bridge, and there is a trail on your right immediately after the bridge. Take this trail and it will lead you to the other side of the trail's bridge. Then follow the rest of the clues.**) Just past the bridge is the Woolen Mill (Huyck Felt Hill) rock foundation on the left. As the trail curves left around the foundation, you will see a large fallen log on your left. This log rest along the top back of the foundation. About 4 feet down the log, between it and the back side foundation wall, is the Woolen Mill letterbox under a couple of rocks and some tree bark.

IMPORTANT: It is NOT in the foundation. Please do NOT remove rocks from the foundation as it is a historical site. You will only need to move 3 small rocks and some bark to find this letterbox.

Thank you and enjoy!
