Driveby. Spend the day hiking or rafting/kayaking. Not accessible during winter weather conditions.

Find the river in Idaho that means ROUGH WATER. Nez Perce Indians named it and rightfully so. We had a blast rafting this mighty river this spring and thankfully arrived during its peak of the season.

Next find the Wilderness Gateway Campground sign. Turn in and cross the ROUGH RIVER. You will spy a Trailhead sign for Trail 211 on your left just before another bridge over Boulder Creek. Find parking and enter that trailhead. There’s an information kiosk on the right shortly after you start on the trail. Read away. Turn around and spy the log resting. Behind the log under a river rock is what you seek. Enjoy your time on this ROUGH RIVER.
