Historic McGhee's Mill: Mumford McGhee build the original three story mill in the late 1700's about a fourth of a mile from his plantation home in the Cunningham area of Person County on the banks of the Hyco River. The mill had four millstones, two to grind the wheat and two for the corn. The mill also had a sawmill and a cotton gin and used four water wheels for power.Folklore has it that the mill provided corn meal for General Lee. In 1937 the mill was torn down due to deterioration and was rebuilt. It became a two story, half country store and half mill, at that time the owner was J.C. Tingen. He operated the mill until 1960. In 1973 the old mill was moved about a quarter of a mile from its original site to make way for Carolina Power and Light Company's new afterbay. Eleven years later it was moved to it's now location beside the office of Donald Wilson and Jeff Noblett.

There are some really pretty goldfish in the water of the rock basin.

Clue:General Dentistry Office
112 Barden St. Park in the lower parking lot. Walk to the Water Wheel. From the right corner of the rock water basin take 12 steps between the rock basin and the office building. Look to the right for the 2 fifty gallon drums (barrels) with concrete tops. What you seek is hidden in a camo bag behind the drum on the right and the rock basin. Please re-hid well and lean the plank back against the hiding place.
