BACKGROUND
“No Opportunity Wasted” (N.O.W.) is a wonderful book by Phil Keoghan, the host of The Amazing Race, which is a popular travel/adventure series on CBS. In the book, he describes his philosophy of figuring out what you hope to achieve in your lifetime and then not letting anything get in the way of you realizing those dreams. He encourages the reader to make a “life list” and then stop making excuses and start checking things off.

Zion National Park was our last stop on an awesome N.O.W. vacation. Kristal’s mom (LB name, KittieLover) has always wanted to see the slot canyons around Page, AZ – so we started there, hiking and photographing for two days. We then spent Mother’s Day volunteering at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary near Kanab – one of Kristal’s wishes. Finally, it was on to Zion so Ron could climb to the top of Angel's Landing. If you spend any time in the park, you’ve heard about it – 1500 vertical feet, 2 ½ miles one-way, the last half-mile of which you’re clinging to chains because it’s a sheer drop-off of 1000+ feet on either side… And he made it! Quite an accomplishment!

TO THE BOX
This box can be found near the George A. Barker Springdale River Park at the south end of town. Park near the voluptuous woman and walk back into the park. Cross the bridge, entering the Marj Bonner Nature Trail and Dog Park. At the Mutt Mitt station, go right. After 80 steps, a trail connects from the left. Stay right for 31 more steps and stop. You should have an orange rock 4 feet to your left and a tall tree with a dead top near the riverbank to your right. The box is 11 steps away from you, due west, in the center of a pile of rocks.
