While you are here, please enjoy the forest and take care of it too.

Begin at:

Maple Hill Farm, 117 Ridge Rd, Hollis, NH 03049

Clues:

The trail head starts at the info board that is between the two parking lots. Follow the Cow Lane Trail for a good distance. You will pass the Wildflower and Wigwam and then pass Teepee and Wigwam again... keep on going!

Eventually Cow Lane will start to go down a hill. At the bottom of the hill, there will be an intersection. Leatherwood Trail will be on the right and Beaver Brook Trail will be on the left. Go straight, so you cross the brook which may or may not have water.

A short way from the brook you crossed, you will pass Maple Leaf Trail on your right. Very shortly after passing Maple Leaf Trail, you will come to an intersection with a trail on the left (white arrow on tree), and a trail on the right. Turn right.

Soon after starting this trail, you will see a thigh high post on your left, with a 42 on it. These are the number markers for the Self Guided Nature Trail.

Still continuing on this trail, you will pass marker 41 (on the left). The trail will make a sharp right turn and you will see logs bordering the left side, and the right side of the trail, similar to a curb. STOP at the beginning of these logs.

Now that the logs are in front of you, turn around and look at the big pine tree that has a white arrow on it. “Ants go Marching” shall be behind this tree, at the base, between some logs. Please re-hide well and make sure that it cannot be seen from either direction on the trail. Thank you!
