***This area was affected by fires, so the terrain has changed drastically, and the boxes are most likely destroyed***

"All the world will be your enemy, Prince with a Thousand Enemies, and whenever they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you, digger, listener, runner, prince with the swift warning. Be cunning and full of tricks and your people shall never be destroyed."

Hazel and his warren have made their way to Carbon Canyon Regional Park; they got in for free, but humans must pay $3-5 per hrududu. The rabbits are naturally wary of humans, but won't mind if you visit them, as long as you hide them carefully when you're done. You may also notice that each rabbit has some words of wisdom for you-- you would do well to take note of these.

The trail is about 2.2 miles roundtrip. Rabbits know better than to touch or eat poison oak or the other dangerous plants that grow here, but for the benefit of us humans, there are signs to warn of their presence. Be watchful for elil as well-- some of the Thousand have been spotted here from time to time.

Silver & Pipkin

Leave your hrududu in the far eastern end of the parking lot and find the entrance to the nature trail. Just a little way down the trail, you'll find yourself crossing a stream, but don't worry-- you won't need a boat to get to the other side. Once you're across, keep walking until you come to an archway formed by branches. Standing directly under the arch, go 150 degrees to several large fallen branches in the midst of three sets of multi-trunked trees. Under the fallen branches, covered by rocks, you'll find Silver and Pipkin.

Bigwig & Holly

Continue along the trail. Not long after you pass a bench facing prickly pears, you'll come upon a huge pepper tree on the right. This tree has a number in front of it, but even if rabbits could read numbers, this one is higher than they can count. At the base of the tree, on the southeast side, you'll find Bigwig and Holly, covered by a large piece of bark.

Blackberry & Dandelion

As you make your way down the trail again, you'll see elderberry and redberry, but no Blackberry (or Dandelion for that matter). Not to worry, they are here-- just hidden. To find them, walk past the wooden retaining wall and find the bench that has come into conflict with a tree. Have a seat on the bench and take a look at your compass. At 10 degrees you'll see a log on the other side of the trail. Blackberry and Dandelion are hiding behind the log, covered by a rock and debris.

Hazel & Fiver

Keep going as the trail winds around the mountain. Finally, you'll reach your destination-- the redwood grove. From the bulletin board that you find here, walk 30 steps at 160 degrees and you should arrive at a cement slab. Hazel and Fiver are hiding under the western side of this slab, covered by a rock and debris. Once you've found them, take a look around the grove and stay a while. This is a wonderful place to have a picnic, and you may see a few other members of the warren hopping about.
