Park in the lot East of Route 1, just North of Perry Hall and check out the Trail Map. Be sure to print out Midnight Boxer's 'Gunpowder Critter' as it is along one of the trails. I also would not recommend bringing small children unless you plan on carrying them! Bring plenty of water. Enjoy! ***Maintenance done on 2/26/12 - all boxes alive and well!!

Tasunke has lost his fetishes while playing in Gunpowder Falls State Park. It is a long journey but he thinks he can find them before nightfall. The Blue Stocksdale Trail looked very familiar to him so he followed this path by the water. After following this rugged path for awhile Tasunke had to make a decision; he hoped he made the Right one. The stream was a little higher today so he was very careful crossing it. Not too much later he stopped at a large 3-trunked Poplar standing tall very close to the trail on the right. He thought he heard voices so he ran up the hill ¾ of the way at 350 degrees. Here he found himself surrounded by a family of Beech trees. The granddaddy tree holding his grandchildren in his lap made Tasunke long for home. But he decided to rest awhile at the back of this tree before moving on.

Returning to the trail he runs as fast as he can uphill until he comes to a Pine forest. He stops at the intersection to catch his breath and looks up at the sky. He sees that it is dark Blue as it is getting late. “This must be the way”, he thinks to himself. Winding his way Left around the Pine trees he hears the cry of wolves. Luckily he finds a lesser traveled Scarlet trail on the right through the Pines that he can duck into. He runs down the hill and stops at a Poplar tree very close to the trail in the shape of a V on the left. Here he takes a bearing of 195 degrees and walks 20 steps to a large rock. He sits down and ponders what could be underneath.

Realizing that he’s on the wrong trail home, Tasunke returns to the Main Trail and moves on. He passes a few side trails but remains true to Blue. Tasunke’s getting a little hungry by this point so he reaches in to pull an Orange out of his pocket but discovers that he has Left it at home. “Maybe this way is a shortcut” he thinks. Tasunke takes it to find out. He stays on this trail until he finds the perfect tree to sit down and rest his weary feet. Looking over his right shoulder however, is a large, peculiar 5 in 1. Upon closer inspection, it really is a 3 in 1 with a 2 in 1 directly behind it.

Tasunke continues on this scenic trail passing many rock walls on the right with a terrific drop off on the left. Approaching the end of this trail, Tasunke can see the Main Trail now and he knows he must be nearing home. But about 25 paces before the merge, he sees a much smaller rock wall all by itself on the right. Looking uphill beyond this wall is a large lightening tree. Standing at this tree Tasunke takes 25 steps at 20 degrees to a large Poplar tree with a mound of rocks at its base.

So close to the Blue Trail now, Tasunke runs down the hill and goes with the Flow. He continues on the trail until he sees a huge, rock beak. He thinks it would be neat to climb the beak but resists the urge and continues on. Very shortly afterward another beak-like structure appears left. Tasunke cannot resist temptation, so he climbs up until he is standing directly in the center. He turns around and walks uphill at 40 degrees quite a way, (to the very top of the hill), until he spies a gnarly U tree with a hole in it. Fearing a wild animal might live in this gaping hole, he goes to the back of the tree. He takes a bearing of 40 degrees and walks 25 steps to the base of an Oak tree with two fallen logs beside it.

Tasunke carefully climbs down the hill and runs the rest of the way back home where he proudly shows his family that he has found his lost fetishes.
