To find this box you first need to find one of La Crosse’s largest and most well known land marks, which sits atop Bliss Road. Once you are there, you will turn into the park, there will be a parking lot on your right with a sign welcoming you, then another will be on the left. Finally you will arrive to the last parking lot, which has a large stone wall wrapping around it’s northern edge. Park here and go out towards the pavilion. Admire the view, from here you can see three states. You’re standing in Wisconsin, straight ahead is Minnesota, and in a south west direction is Iowa. On the large pavilion are several plaques, find the one talking about the year the flag pole was erected. It was put up just 8 days after I was born. Take a compass reading of 40 degrees and walk 25 paces (paces being two steps, also keep in mind that I am 6’3”) to the top of ten stairs. From the bottom of these stairs take a reading of 310 degrees. And walk 17 paces. You should be at the start of a fence line. Then walk 16 paces straight into the woods. The box is just behind the fallen tree in front of you. Sorry that most of this is uphill on the way back, but at least it’s not up hill both ways!

-------------------------BONUS BOX-------------------------

To find the bonus box you need to go back to the first parking lot. While facing the sign stand to the right of it, and take a compass reading of 340 degrees you should be walking toward a large oak tree just at the edge of the woods. From this large tree find north and walk 30 paces into the woods. The bonus box is at the trunk of a large fallen tree.

There is no log book for the bonus box.

For an explanation of the stamp contact me and I’ll be more than happy to tell you.

As always happy hunting! Please be sure to reseal and rehide the boxes well! Any questions or any comments feel free to send me a message!!
