Newtown Ohio, Hamilton County
Difficulty: easy Placed: January 7,2002 ~by franzsolo
THIS PARK IS TEMPORARILY CLOSED
DUE TO CONSTRUCTION
Driving clues : Intersection of Rt 50 Wooster Pike Newtown Road. Coming off Rt50 toward Newtown (over bridge) Turn right at first drive (parking lot entrance).
Bass Island provides an ideal spot for bird watchers to see the variety of birds that visit this park. Also provides bank fishing, and a canoe access to the Little Miami River.
Clues for letterbox:
From the parking lot take a 40º heading. You will pass over a concrete foot bridge and come to a sign that states: Little Miami River Bank Fishing Area.
Take a 320º heading from that sign ~walk about 60 paces toward the bank fishing area. "The Mole" is in the hole of a tree between the trail and the river. He has made his nest waist high because of the possibility of flash flooding in the area.
