First you need to locate Christmas Hill Park, in Gilroy, CA, which is off Miller Ave. Use the entrance that is East of Miller Ave.

Follow the parking lot all the way to the end; just as the road starts to turns around, you can also follow the signs for the amphitheater.

Locate the flagpole that is in front of the picnic area, which is Southeast of the amphitheater.

Start off going East on the path, there will be a bench with information on the “Uvas-Carnadern Creek” on it, to your Left, follow the path until it you can bear right in about 75 steps, continue around the path, there will be a picnic area directly on your left.

Go until this path intersects with another path and go Left.

If you look to your right after you turn left, you will see a sign that reads: “Trails / Poison Oak” continue for about 20 steps and you will come to another intersection.

Turn right, in approx 15 steps you will come to a gate, that is usually open, from here follow the path up about 65 steps and you will notice a tree on the Right side of the path, that is pretty much dead, and only has part of it’s truck still standing.

Go to the Southwest side of the tree, slightly down hill off the path, inside this tree will be your prize. You may have to dig around for inside the tree, be sure you replant carefully, thanks. Be careful if people are around, since there is not too much cover.

Bring an inkpad.
